Technical innovation is the fruit of creativity, a wealth of design experience and an accumulation of practical technology. Our Research, Planning and Development Department has an outstanding record of developing new products and new processing methods, as demonstrated by the impressive number of patents we hold. We are pursuing research and development with the twin missions of mastering new technologies and developing high value-added products for our customers. We cooperate with outside institutions, including university R&D departments, and have established wide-ranging information gathering capabilities. We have also created a system which makes possible exchanges in higher-level research and development and with other fields.

As the values of society become more diverse, the applications of steel will also become more complex and serve a broader range of purposes. In grappling with problems directly related to customers' needs, we are demonstrating research and development capability that's rich in originality. This is just one of the ways in which we're opening new paths for plate processing.
